SAN DIEGO – The PLNU men's tennis team improved to 3-4 after a big win over No. 7 regionally ranked MSU – Denver (March 24).
Point Loma got off to a fast start winning the doubles play point.
Tyler Davis and
Lukas Schuster won their match 6-3, and
Jasdeep Paintal and
David Strassburger followed that up with a 7-5 victory to claim the doubles point.
PLNU nearly swept singles play winning five of the six matches. Point Loma got two more points after
Tales Silva and
Tyler Davis both won their singles match. Up 3-0, Point Loma was searching for the clinching point. MSU – Denver would not let them get it just yet beating PLNU in the No. 4 position. With MSU – Denver on the board the Sea Lions wasted no time gathering the clinching point and the win.
Lukas Schuster won his match in three sets giving Point Loma the fourth and clinching point.
Jasdeep Paintal and
David Strassburger each won their matches and PLNU went on to win the match 6-1.
