SURPRISE, Ariz. – The Point Loma women's tennis team fell in the consolation bracket to Metro State 4-2 (April 23).
Point Loma was unable to get the early momentum as the Roadrunners took the doubles point. Metro State won in the No. 2 and No. 3 positions to secure the doubles play point.

Angelique Friedrich finished up their match after the Roadrunners had clinched the point, the duo fell 6-4 in their match.
Metro State extended their lead to 2-0 after getting a victory in the No. 6 position in singles play. PLNU responded after
Rachel Whittington defeated her opponent in straight sets to get Point Loma back into the match.
Thelma Sepulveda would come up big winning her set and tying the match 2-2 with a straight-set victory in the No. 2 position. Unfortunately, Metro State would take the next two matches and clinch the victory by a score of 4-2.
Amanda Letzring was getting ready to start the third set in her match when Metro State clinched the match point.
