LA MIRADA, Calif. – The Point Loma women's tennis team got down early and fought back to even the match up at 2-2. Unfortunately, they were unable to capture a victory and dropped the match 4-2.
The Eagles edged Point Loma in doubles play after winning in the No. 1 and No. 2 positions. The Eagles got the early momentum after winning in the No. 1 position, but PLNU responded with a strong win in the No. 3 position. The Eagles ultimately secured the doubles play point after winning in the No. 2 position.
The match then headed to singles play. After Biola won in the No 1 position to go up 2-0 Point Loma charged right back winning 6-0 and 6-3 in the No. 6 position.
Thelma Sepulveda then won in the No. 2 position 6-0 and 6-3 to even the match 2-2.
Biola ultimately won the next two matches in the No. 4 and No. 5 position to win the match 4-2.
Point Loma still leads the all-time series 15-1 against Biola.
