ANDERSON, OKHOTIN KEY PLNU IN WIN OVER BIOLA

SAN DIEGO--- A quick start to a crucial home-stand spurred the Point Loma Sea Lions (9-7 overall, 5-3 PacWest) to a 79-69 win over the Biola Eagles (11-4 overall, 5-3 PacWest) Wednesday night inside of Golden Gymnasium.

After 11 days off, the Sea Lions showed little rust and wasted no time jumping on the Eagles. While both teams were missing key pieces, Point Loma rallied behind their big man at the start.

Kaden Anderson scored the first three buckets for Point Loma and the Sea Lions raced out to a 14-7 lead, sparking a big night for both Anderson and the Sea Lions.

From there, Ben Okhotin came off the bench and knocked down his first three 3-pointers as Point Loma pushed the lead into double figures.

Hugh Baxter was a key piece in the early stretch, snatching 7 of his game high 9 rebounds in the first half and keeping the teams even on the glass in the period

Point Loma shot over 70% during the game's first 15 minutes and found themselves up 11 at the half.

Anderson and Okhotin continued their stellar play while switching roles, Anderson knocked down a few three's later and Okhotin caught fire from the baseline and in the lane with a fade away jumper that he didn't miss.

Point Loma's lead swelled to as much as 17 in the second half and touched that margin multiple points in the closing minutes before Biola cut the difference to 7 points over the last few minutes.

Both teams finished above their season marks from 3, but Point Loma's early advantage from deep helped position them late to close out the game.

But the Sea Lions closed out the game at the line, hitting 7 of their final 8 free throws and finishing 11-12 from the stripe.

Kaden Anderson finished with a game-high 30 points, while Okhotin came off the bench with 20. Baxter rounded out Point Loma's double figure scorers with 10.

Biola was led by 24 points from Alex Wright.

Point Loma will be right back in action on Thursday night, with another rescheduled contest, hosting Chaminade at 6:00pm inside Golden Gymnasium.
