(GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.) Inclement weather couldn't stop PLNU Tennis from continuing its strong start to the ITA West Regional Championships on Friday.
 
The Sea Lions overcame multiple weather delays to have several players advance further in the singles and doubles portions of the tournament.
 
"Today was a challenging day for both teams with the weather causing multiple match delays," PLNU Head Coach Curt Wheeler said. "Both teams also had to switch from outdoor courts to indoor courts in the middle of the day due to the rain, but they did a tremendous job of adjusting and focusing on the things they had control of."
 
In the men's singles main draw, PLNU is guaranteed one finalist as teammates Alexander Leischner and Tyler Davis will face off on Saturday in the semifinals at 8:30 a.m. MT/7:30 a.m. PT. The winner will advance to the championship, scheduled for 11:30 a.m. MT/10:30 a.m. PT.
 
Leischner will then pair up with Fabian Penzkofer in Saturday's men's doubles final at 1 p.m. MT/noon PT.

Tenth-seeded Joelle Lanz advanced the furthest of any Sea Lion on the women's side, winning her Round of 16 match before falling in the quarterfinals.
