REDLANDS, Calif.-The Point Loma Sea Lions (5-2 overall) took a straight course at getting back on track, rolling to an 8-1 win at the University of Redlands (0-1 overall) Saturday afternoon.
Playing by Division III rules, the Sea Lions took advantage of their match-ups in doubles taking all three matched.
Samantha Neilson and
Angelique Friedrich made quick work of the first pairing, winning 8-1.
Thelma Sepulveda and
Faith Pearson were not far behind, picking up an 8-2 win.
Arianna Audelo and
Amanda Letzring closed out the doubles sweep with an 8-6 on court 2.
The momentum kept rolling behind the Sea Lions in singles as well with all six matches going in straight sets. First, it was Pearson who scored a quick 6-3, 6-2 win on court 6. Audelo won in straight sets as well 6-4, 6-0 taking court 1.
Friedrich got back on the winning track with a 6-2, 6-2 win. Neilson picked up Point Loma's 8
th point with a 6-4, 6-2 win.
Point Loma will return home after some good tests on the road, hosting PacWest rival Azusa Pacific at 2:00pm on Monday.
