LA MIRADA, Calif.—Down after doubles,
Tyler Davis made quick work of the #1 pairing but the Point Loma Sea Lions (3-4 overall) ultimately fell 6-1 to Biola Eagles (5-2 overall) at the Biola Tennis Center.
After
David Strassburger and
Elias Weeks fell 4-6 on court 3 to the Eagles,
Alejandro Castaneda and
Nabeel Khan pushed their match to a tiebreaker before falling 6-8.
Tyler Davis and
Lukas Schuster were locked in a 6-6 tie, but the match was left unfinished.
Davis bounced right back with the quickest match of singles play with a 6-2, 6-4 win tying the team score at 1-1.
The Sea Lion's struggled to hold on as losses on courts 4 and 5 stacked up two more points for the Eagles.
Khan and Strassburger each took their opening set but Biola finished off the victory. Castaneda fought to a tie break in each set, but ultimately fell in straight sets to conclude the morning.
The Sea Lions will be back on the road for a PacWest foe on Wedmesday at 3:00pm against Concordia in Irvine.
