IRVINE, Calif.-Coming down to a single point, the Point Loma Sea Lions (3-5 overall) fell 4-3 to the Concordia Eagles (2-4 overall) Wednesday afternoon.
An evenly split day may have been decided by doubles, as Concordia took the early team point thanks to wins in the 2
nd and 3
rd pairings and jumped in front.
That proved costly to the Sea Lions as
Tyler Davis continued his solid play with his third win in four matches. Davis took the #1 flight 6-4, 7-5.
David Strassburger won in three sets on the 2
nd court, rebounding after dropping the first set 7-6 to win 6-2, 6-4.
Point Loma saw Concordia clinch the match because of singles losses on courts 3, 4, and 5.
Alejandro Castaneda picked up Point Loma's other victory with a 7-5, 6-2 win.
Point Loma aims to bounce back on Friday when it hosts Westcliff University at Noon on the PLNU Tennis Courts.
