SAN DIEGO-In one of their most impressive showings of the seasons, the Point Loma Sea Lions (6-5 overall) swept their PacWest opponent, the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds (3-5 overall) Tuesday afternoon at the PLNU Tennis Courts.

The Sea Lions started quickly behind 6-1 victories in doubles on the first two courts. David Strassburger and Lukas Schuster wrapped their win shortly before Tyler Davis and Nabeel Khan clinched the point.

Point Loma kept rolling in singles as Alejandro Castaneda and Alexander Leischuer won on courts 5 and 3 respectively. Castenada notched a 6-1, 6-1 victory and Leischuer quickly followed with a 6-1, 6-0 win.

That set it up for Tyler Davis to clinch the team victory as Point Loma's #1 cruised to a 6-2, 6-2 win.

Khan won a hard-fought set 1 6-4 before rolling into a 6-1 victory.

Strassburger mirrored the result, cruising in the first set to a 6-1 win before fighting off his FPU challenger 6-4 in set 2.

Jasdeep Paintal concluded the afternoon with a 6-2, 6-4 victory to complete the sweep of Fresno Pacific.

Point Loma continues a busy week at home on Thursday when it hosts Hawai'i Pacific at 11:00 am on the PLNU Tennis Courts.
