(COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.) PLNU Women's Basketball was competitive in its first of two games in Colorado, winning the fourth quarter in a 66-72 defeat at the hands of UCCS on Thursday night.
 
The Sea Lions have outscored their opponents in the fourth quarter of all three games this season.
 
Tavia Rowell (12 points, 8 rebounds), Shayla O'Neil (11 points) and Ellie Turk (10 points) all scored in double figures and made multiple 3-pointers, as Point Loma shot 46.7% from behind the arc.
 
Defensively, the Sea Lions held the Mountain Lions to 36.1% shooting overall, including 25.0% from downtown, but were made to pay in the turnover margin.
 
UCCS won the turnover battle, 19-10, turning that into a 20-11 advantage in points off turnovers.
 
The hosts led by 10 entering the final quarter before the visitors got to within six in the final period but weren't able to make it a single-possession game.
 
Point Loma (1-2 overall) concludes its Colorado trip with a matchup against Regis on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. MT / 2:30 p.m. PT.
