(LA MIRADA, Calif.) PLNU Women's Tennis lost the doubles point to Biola on Saturday, but won five of six singles matches to claim a 5-2 road victory over the Eagles in La Mirada.

At No. 3 doubles,
Faith Pearson and
Arianna Audelo won 7-4 in a tiebreak to force a winner-take-all No. 2 doubles contest, which BU claimed in a tiebreak to earn the doubles point.

But Point Loma responded in singles, with both
Amanda Letzring and
Rachel Whittington winning in straight sets after not losing a game in either of their second sets.

Letzring prevailed 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 before Whittington triumphed 6-3, 6-0 at No. 6.

Angelique Friedrich also won in straight sets at No. 4 – 6-3, 6-4. That set the stage for
Thelma Sepulveda to win her 14th-straight singles match, taking both sets by a 6-2 margin.

Joelle Lanz bounced back from dropping her first set, 4-6, to win the second 6-2 and the third 6-3 to round out the scoring for the Sea Lions.

Point Loma (13-6 overall) returns to competition on Friday when PLNU hosts Arizona Christian at 2 p.m. on Senior Day.
