But the Eagles managed to hold off the Sea Lions' comeback bid in an exciting final period, ultimately prevailing by a final margin of 80-69.

After leading by 12 at halftime, BU led by as many as 20 in the second half before Point Loma caught fire from 3-point range in the fourth.

PLNU made five 3-pointers in the final period after making one in each of the first three quarters.

The two teams combined for nine triples in the fourth, including on five-straight possessions.

Shayla O'Neil and one from
Ellie Turk got the Sea Lions to within six, 66-72, with two minutes remaining.

But that was as close as Point Loma would get the rest of the way, as Biola's 22-7 margin in the second quarter proved to be the difference.

Tavia Rowell's game-high 18.
Shayla O'Neil was next with 15 points, while
Ellie Turk scored 13 and led all players with seven assists.
Hannah Golan added 10 points.

Point Loma (8-9 overall, 4-5 PacWest), who led 12-2 halfway through the first quarter, next travels to Hawaii for three conference games beginning on Tuesday at Hawai'i Hilo (7 p.m. PT / 4 p.m. HT).
