(HAYWARD, Calif.) PLNU Men's Basketball continued its hot start to the season with an 83-66 victory over Cal State East Bay on Friday at the PacWest/CCAA Conference Challenge.
How It Happened
After falling behind 8-5 early, a
Zackry Paulsen triple tied it up, and from there the Sea Lions got on a roll, extending their lead to 20-11 soon after.
The Sea Lions then put their foot down and opened up a large gap that amounted to a 15-point lead at the half. During the first half, Point Loma shot 20% better from the field than Cal State East Bay, while making five 3-pointers compared to CSUEB's one.
PLNU stayed far in front during the entire second half, extending its lead up to 27 multiple times. The Sea Lions used their physicality to better the hosts in rebounding (47-33) while holding an advantage in nearly every offensive category.

Five Sea Lions scored in double figures, led by
Zackry Paulsen's 15 points.
Coby Barnes (13 points, 6 rebounds),
Luke Haupt (11 points, 4 rebounds),
Luke Smith (11 points, 9 rebounds) and
Tyce Paulsen (10 points, 5 rebounds) also reached double digits in the points column.
On defense,
Wynton Brown led all players with three blocks, while
Zackry Paulsen had three steals.
