SEA LIONS BLITZ EAGLES IN SECOND HALF OF COMEBACK WIN

(SAN DIEGO) No. 12 PLNU Men's Basketball blitzed Biola in the second half, overcoming a 13-point first half deficit to defeat the Eagles handily, 82-67, on Wednesday night in PacWest action inside Golden Gym.

After trailing at halftime, Point Loma scored 51 points in the second half, its most points scored in a second half this season, to win by double digits.

Biola led by as many as 13 with 6:26 to play in the first half before a 7-0 PLNU run got the hosts back to within five. Andrew Hommes then made a pair of free throws to make it a three-point game heading into the locker room.

Point Loma opened the second half a perfect 4-for-4 from the field, as Tyce Paulsen's hook shot gave PLNU the lead before Coby Barnes banked in a triple to cap off a 7-0 start to the second half.

Jaden Matingou's 3-pointer then closed out an 11-0 stretch for the Sea Lions that extended their lead to double digits with 8:50 to play, when Point Loma already equaled its first half scoring output on its way to a 51-point second half.

PLNU led by as many as 22 following Luke Haupt's triple with 2:46 remaining, as Haupt put the finishing touches on his game-high 20-point performance.

Zackry Paulsen and Barnes added 16 points, while Tyce Paulsen pitched in with 13 points.

The Sea Lions outscored the Eagles 20-4 in fastbreak points and 15-4 in points off turnovers, as PLNU committed a season-low four turnovers.
