(SAN FRANCISCO) No. 13 PLNU Men's Basketball won a battle between the two teams who shared the PacWest title a season ago, defeating Academy of Art 58-53 on Saturday.

Point Loma jumped to a double-digit halftime lead, 33-21, as the Sea Lions held the Urban Knights to the fewest points by a PLNU opponent in any half this season.

ART U got to within one with 7:04 remaining in the second half, but Point Loma responded with an immediate 7-0 run sparked by a
Tyce Paulsen 3-pointer.

The Sea Lions shot a stellar 19-for-22 from the free throw line, after shooting 18-for-19 in Thursday's win at Dominican, to seal the victory down the stretch.
The 53 points allowed by PLNU are its fewest allowed in any game since Jan. 10, 2024 against Biola, as the Sea Lions held the Urban Knights to just 35.2% shooting and 21.1% from behind the arc.

Zackry Paulsen and nine points and seven rebounds from
Luke Haupt.

Point Loma (9-2 overall, 2-0 PacWest) finishes the opening weekend of PacWest play unbeaten before returning home to Golden Gym on Wednesday to take on Biola at 7:30 p.m.
