(SAN DIEGO) PLNU Men's Tennis nearly defeated NCAA Division I Portland State on Monday, losing a nailbiter by a 3-4 margin.

Andrew Suver and
Lukas Schuster rolled to a 6-1 victory at No. 3 doubles,
Alexander Leischner and
David Strassburger clinched the doubles point for the Sea Lions off Leischner's serve.

Nabeel Khan then dominated at No. 4 singles, winning 6-3, 6-2 to give Point Loma a 2-0 overall lead.

Four of the next five singles matches then went to three sets, with Suver (7-5, 6-7, 6-4) overcoming a tiebreak loss in the second set to pick up PLNU's third point in the match.

Strassburger (No. 1),
Matt Melosch (No. 3) and Schuster (No. 5) all won the first set in their singles matches before Portland State came back to win.

Point Loma (9-6 overall) returns to the PLNU Tennis Courts on Saturday to host Biola at 2 p.m.
