(NAMPA, ID) Looking to keep its momentum rolling, PLNU Volleyball secured its fifth-straight win to start the season with a 3-1 victory over Northwest Nazarene on Friday night.

The 25-22, 17-25, 25-23, 25-15 win over the NNU Tournament hosts moves Point Loma to 5-0 on the year.

How It Happened
In the first set, no team held a lead larger than two points until
Saren Rogers' back-to-back kills put PLNU up 17-14. Four-straight points from NNU then gave the hosts the advantage, until a 4-0 run from Point Loma restored the Sea Lions' lead. Ahead by one at 23-22, PLNU secured the first set after a kill and service ace from
Genevieve Hara.

NNU then came out of the gates of the second set with six-straight points to ultimately tie the match at one set apiece.

Point Loma responded in the third set, winning by a narrow two-point margin to regain the momentum in the match. Both teams exchanged runs throughout the set, which was finished off by a 3-0 Sea Lions' streak.
Abigail Nua's kill tied it up at 23-23 before consecutive blocks, with
Anna Massari involved in both, putting PLNU up 2-1 overall in the match.

The Sea Lions carried that momentum into the fourth set, winning what proved to be the final stanza by double digits. PLNU capped the decisive victory by scoring the final four points of the match, with four different Sea Lions contributing kills during that stretch.
