(GOLDEN, Colo.) No. 9 PLNU Men's Soccer outshot Colorado School of Mines, 20-8, but came on the wrong side of a 2-1 result on Saturday night in Golden despite another encouraging performance.

Point Loma held a 10-4 advantage in shots in both halves, nearly taking the lead in the first half through
Keoni Young.

Mines then went ahead in the second half against the run of play, only for
Elijah Langford to equalize 46 seconds later.

Felix Calero fed Langford at the top of the box to curl home a left-footed shot from 18 yards out for his first goal of the season.

The hosts then retook their lead in the 82nd minute, with the Sea Lions nearly answering right back moments later through
Simon Sagal, who had his shot from a promising position in the box blocked by an opposing defender.

PLNU pushed for an equalizer, with
Gael Ruiz' curling effort just missing wide and Calero's cross nearly connecting with Langford, but were unable to find a tying goal.

Point Loma (1-1-2 overall) will conclude its non-conference schedule on Thursday at Cal State Dominguez Hills. Kickoff in Carson is slated for 5 p.m.
