(SAN DIEGO) Freshman outside hitter Saren Rogers led all players with 15 kills, as No. 20 PLNU Volleyball defeated Concordia in four sets (25-18, 22-25, 25-16, 25-22) on Thursday night in Golden Gym.
 
With a win in its conference home opener, Point Loma improves to 9-0 overall (3-0 PacWest) to remain unbeaten and continue its best start to a season since 2011.
 
The Sea Lions rolled in the first set, holding the Golden Eagles to a .000 hitting %.
 
After CUI scored the final three points of the second set to even up the match, PLNU responded with a dominant end of the third stanza.

Leading 16-14, Point Loma went on a 6-0 run that included a pair of Abigail Nua service aces to run away with the set.
 
Then with the teams tied at 21 apiece in a tightly-contested fourth set, the Sea Lions pulled away by scoring four of the final five points of the match.
 
Rogers tallied two kills in that stretch, including on match point, to overtake Nua (14 kills) for the match lead in the category.

Sophia Baugh led all players with 37 assists, as did Anna Massari in blocks (7) and Makenna Joyce in digs (18). Nua and Baugh both recorded double-doubles by adding 14 digs each.
 
Point Loma (9-0 overall, 3-0 PacWest) travels to Fresno next to take on Fresno Pacific on Saturday at 1 p.m.
