SEA LIONS SUFFER FIRST PACWEST LOSS OF THE SEASON

(HILO, Hawai'i) No. 10 PLNU Men's Soccer was handed its first PacWest loss of the season on Thursday in a 2-0 defeat at Hawai'i Hilo.

Point Loma, the two-time defending PacWest champions, entered the day with a perfect 4-0 mark in conference play and on a six-game winning streak, but were held without a goal for the first time this season.

The two teams were level until the 65th minute, when Hilo scored the first of its two second-half goals. The Vulcans added another in the 83rd to seal the three points.

Both teams mustered seven shots, while PLNU held a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Point Loma (8-3-1 overall, 4-1 PacWest) concludes its trip to the Aloha State with a match at Hawai'i Pacific on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. HST / 10 p.m. PST.
