Saren Rogers set a career-high with 24 kills, as No. 5 PLNU Volleyball continued its unbeaten road trip with a four-set, non-conference victory (25-22, 25-18, 21-25, 25-22) over Vanguard on Thursday night.
Eight of those kills came in the fourth and final set, as Point Loma extended its winning streak to six matches, including four straight as part of its six-match stretch away from Golden Gym.
The Sea Lions' defense was scrappy with 85 digs compared to Vanguard's 62, led by career-highs in digs from freshmen
Hailey Wilson (21 digs) and
Jolyna Salas (14 digs).
Macy Reynolds had 19 digs, while
Sophia Baugh (48 assists, 13 digs) recorded her seventh double-double of the season.
Rogers' 24 kills led all players and came on an efficient .308 attack %.
Kyra Miles had 12 kills on .435 hitting, while
Jill Leslie nearly joined them in double figures with nine kills.
Point Loma (19-2 overall) returns to PacWest play on Wednesday, when PLNU travels to play Biola in La Mirada at 7 p.m.
