(LA MIRADA, Calif.) No. 4 PLNU Volleyball reached the 20-win mark for the fourth straight season, continuing its unbeaten start to PacWest play with a four-set victory (25-21, 25-23, 23-25, 25-21) at Biola on Wednesday night.
Point Loma, with its highest national ranking in program history, scored the final five points of set one before scoring five of the final six points of set two to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
After Biola won set three, the hosts went ahead 4-0 in the fourth before PLNU battled back to close out the match on
Jill Leslie's kill.
Saren Rogers set a career-high in kills for the second consecutive match, tallying 27 kills to eclipse her previous personal best of 24 kills, which came against Vanguard on Thursday.
Freshman
Hailey Clark also set a career-high with 12 kills, while Leslie added 11.
Setter
Sophia Baugh was stellar with 56 assists, as she also tied her own career high in kills with six.
Libero
Macy Reynolds had 32 digs, while
Kira Federico,
Hailey Wilson and
Jolyna Salas nearly joined her in double figures with nine digs apiece.
Point Loma (20-2 overall, 8-0 PacWest), a half-game behind No. 12 Fresno Pacific (21-0, 9-0) in the conference standings, returns to PacWest play on Saturday at Concordia. First serve in Irvine is scheduled for 2 p.m.
