(SANTA BARBARA, Calif.) PLNU Men's Tennis opened its 2025 season with a 6-1 road victory at Westmont in Santa Barbara on Saturday.
 
Point Loma took a 1-0 lead in the match by virtue of winning the doubles point, thanks to victories from Niclas Goltz/Nabeel Khan at No. 3 (6-2) and Andrew Suver/David Fisinger at No. 2 (6-3).
 
Then in singles, the Sea Lions won five of the six matches, with Khan (No. 4 – 6-0, 6-2), Suver (No. 2 – 6-1, 7-5), Fisinger (No. 5 – 7-6, 6-2) and Finn Kirschner (No. 6 – 6-3, 6-2) winning in straight sets.
 
Goltz then claimed a three-set victory at No. 3 (6-3, 4-6, 6-2).
 
Point Loma (1-0 overall) returns to the PLNU Tennis Courts on Thursday to take on Jessup at 1 p.m.
