(LA MIRADA, Calif.) No. 6 PLNU Baseball ran rampant on offense on Monday, clinching a PacWest-opening series victory over Biola with a doubleheader sweep of the Eagles.

Point Loma won both games on the road, 9-1 and 15-4, as PLNU outscored BU 29-7 in the four-game set.

Bryson Hashimoto hit a pair of homers in game one, while
Luke Reece added a pair of run-scoring hits for the Sea Lions.
Darren Cho and
Jake Entrekin also knocked in runners with extra-base hits.

Five of those nine runs in game one came in the final two innings, before Point Loma carried that momentum into game two by scoring seven runs in the first inning of the series finale, all with two outs.

Josiah Rodriguez hit the first of two home runs to cap off the seven-run first, which included a pair of RBI-singles from fellow freshman
Matt Bernath.

The Sea Lions added three more runs in the second, one in the fourth and another four in the sixth, as PLNU set a new season-high for runs scored in a single game.

Point Loma (7-3 overall, 3-1 PacWest) returns to action on Friday with a doubleheader at Vanguard scheduled to start at 11 a.m.
