(COSTA MESA, Calif.) No. 7 PLNU Baseball kept its offense rolling on Friday, sweeping a doubleheader at Vanguard by scores of 17-8 and 14-3.

Point Loma has now scored double-digit runs in three straight games and has had nine or more runners cross home plate in four straight.

The Sea Lions broke open game one on Friday by scoring eight runs in the final two innings, including seven in the ninth.

That came after both teams scored five runs in the second inning, as PLNU scored in each of the second, third, fourth and fifth.

Aiden Arriaga and
Luke Reece both had four RBIs in the first game, while
Jake Entrekin homered in the seven-run ninth inning. Six of those seven PLNU runs came with no outs in the inning.

The Sea Lions stayed hot in game two, running away with the nightcap after a six-run fourth before scoring five runs in the final two innings.

Noah Meffert hit a three-run shot in that six-run fourth before hitting an RBI-double in his next at-bat. Entrekin also homered for his second long ball of the day, tallying two RBIs in game two, with
Owen May also knocking in a pair of runners.

Branden Jackel pitched six innings in game two, only allowing a pair of unearned runs, while striking out seven. In 18 innings pitched this season, the sophomore lefthander has yet to allow an earned run, posting a 0.00 ERA through four appearances.

Point Loma (9-3 overall, 5-1 PacWest) returns to Carroll B. Land Stadium on Saturday to host Vanguard in the final two games of their four-game set. First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m.
