(SAN DIEGO) Point Loma Men's Tennis rolled past Metro State on Saturday evening, winning 7-0 on the PLNU Tennis Courts.

Point Loma claimed the doubles point with a pair of 6-4 victories on Courts No. 2 (
Nabeel Khan /
Niclas Goltz) and No. 1 (
Alexander Leischner /
Elias Weeks).
Andrew Suver and
David Fisinger were also leading 6-5 at No. 3 with their match left unfinished.

The Sea Lions then won all six singles matches in straight sets, with Khan (No. 6) and Leischner (No. 1) getting the team started with their 6-2, 6-2 victories.

Finn Kirschner then clinched the team win with his 6-0, 6-2 triumph at No. 5, improving to 11-0 overall in singles this season.

Suver was next, winning 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2, with his ace and forehand winner setting up match point.

Fisinger then claimed a 6-2, 6-4 victory at No. 4, before Goltz closed out the night with a thrilling 6-2, 7-6 (8-6) win on Court No. 3.

In his second set tiebreak, Goltz saved two set points after trailing 4-6. He ultimately won the final four points of the tiebreak, with his overhead slam at the net sealing the victory.

Point Loma (8-3 overall) plays next at Concordia on Tuesday, with doubles play scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
