(SANTA BARBARA, Calif.) No. 8 PLNU Baseball remains in second place in the PacWest standings after No. 5 Westmont defeated the Sea Lions in both games of Saturday's conference doubleheader to win the series.
Â
The Warriors scored the first nine runs of Saturday's first game, but the visitors stormed back and made a game of it, scoring seven runs in the final four innings.
Â
Jake Entrekin, who had homered in six straight games entering Saturday, got PLNU on the board with an RBI-single to left as part of a four-run sixth inning, which was capped by
Darren Cho's run-scoring base hit.
Â
Aiden Arriaga then blasted a three-run home run to right to get the Sea Lions to within three.
Â
However, Westmont held Point Loma scoreless over the next eight combined innings, limiting PLNU to just four hits in game two.
