SEA LIONS SWEEP SILVERSWORDS IN HONOLULU

(HONOLULU) No. 25 PLNU Baseball took both games of Saturday's doubleheader at Chaminade, 8-6 and 4-3, to complete a four-game sweep of the Silverswords and conclude its trip to Hawai'i on a six-game winning streak.

Point Loma scored a pair of runs in the ninth inning of game one to break a 6-6 tie, with Bryson Hashimoto's walk scoring what proved to be the winning run.

Tommy Molina had three hits in the first game and added a pair of RBIs, as did Jake Schwartz.

Brock Mayer was then stellar on the mound in game two, throwing 6.1 innings and striking out seven without allowing an earned run.

Molina and Schwartz had multiple hits in the nightcap once again, while Luke Reece's RBI-single through the right side scored the eventual game-winning run in the top of the sixth.

Michael Sarhatt earned the save in both victories.

Point Loma (30-12 overall, 26-10 PacWest) will take its season-long winning streak into a four-game set with Azusa Pacific next weekend, beginning on Friday with a doubleheader in Carroll B. Land Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for noon.
