(AZUSA, Calif.) No. 17 Azusa Pacific edged No. 13 PLNU Women's Tennis on Saturday, 4-3 ending Point Loma's 12-match winning streak.
 
After the Cougars won the doubles point, Alina Kupfer got the Sea Lions going in singles with her victory at No. 1. She won the first set, 6-4, before her opponent retired.
 
Anna Pallencaoe then also won by retirement at No. 5, claiming the first set 6-3 before leading 2-1 in the second set.
 
Quin Brady scored the team's third point, winning in three sets (0-6, 6-4, 7-5) at No. 3.
 
APU is the only NCAA Division II to have beaten PLNU this season.
 
The Sea Lions' 12-match winning streak was one win shy of tying their program record set just last season.
 
Point Loma (14-3 overall) hosts NCAA Division I UC San Diego on Wednesday at 4 p.m. on the PLNU Tennis Courts.
