MEN'S SOCCER ANNOUNCES 2025 RECRUITING CLASS

7/28/2025 9:44:00 AM

(SAN DIEGO) Coming off back-to-back PacWest championships, PLNU Men's Soccer will seek a three-peat in 2025 with the addition of 12 new players to the squad.

"We are incredibly excited to bring in a top group of players and people to our program in 2025," Head Coach Phil Wolf said. "We are confident that this group will continue our growth as a program and enable us to take the next step in our development."

Of the 12, nine are transfers and three are freshmen. Five new players arrived on The Point for this past spring semester.

JANUARY ENROLLEES

"It was great to have five student-athletes enroll in January who could all train and play in our spring games," Wolf said. "All of them have already added a ton to our program and I look forward to their continued impact."

#14 Inaki Santamarina
Freshman | Midfielder | Bellevue, Wash. | Sammamish HS

Wolf said: "An Eastside FC ECNL product out of Washington state, Inaki is a shifty interior who is wonderful in possession and will add real quality to our attack. We believe he will fight for minutes right away in our central midfield."

#25 Frankie Garton
Freshman | Winger | Manchester, England | Torrey Pines HS

Wolf said: "A local product from San Diego Surf ECNL, Frankie will provide us with depth in our attack and can play in all three of the attacking positions. Frankie brings a great personality to our team and we are excited to have him be a part of our program."

#8 Curtis Collazos
Graduate | Midfielder | Culver City, Calif. | Cal State San Marcos

Wolf said: "We recruited Curtis out of high school four years ago, but he headed to CSUSM instead where he had a wonderful career there. A First Team All-CCAA and United Soccer Coaches All West Region Third Team member in the fall of 2023, Curtis will step straight into our center midfield in his final year of eligibility. Curtis brings real experience and maturity to our team in 2025 and we are blessed to have him."

#11 Cole Friesen
Junior | Midfielder | Chula Vista, Calif. | Whitworth University

Wolf said: "Another local recruit out of San Diego Surf ECNL, Cole makes his way to The Point after two incredible years at NCAA Division III Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington. In only two years, Cole became Whitworth's all-time leading scorer in career goals (41) and in a single season (24). We anticipate Cole adding goals and assists to an already talented attack."

#17 DeMonte Gordon
Junior | Winger | Henderson, Nev. | UNLV

Wolf said: "DeMonte is a player out of Las Vegas who played for FC Heat ECNL 04/05. After three semesters of studying at UNLV, DeMonte's love for the game found him looking for opportunities to play at the collegiate level. We are excited to add DeMonte to our group and see him develop over the next couple of seasons as he finishes his undergraduate degree."

FALL ARRIVALS

"We have now finalized our roster with the addition of seven players who will provide much needed depth and quality to an already strong group of players," Wolf said.

#24 Gage Wasserman
Senior | Defender | Costa Mesa, Calif. | Cal State San Marcos

Wolf said: "Gage arrives to The Point after three years at CSUSM. Gage brings a lot of experience to our team as he has faced some of the top competition in the CCAA during his time at CSUSM. With two years of eligibility remaining, we anticipate Gage being able to compete right away in our central defense and look forward to his impact in our program."

#15 Diego Chavez
Senior | Midfielder | Corona, Calif. | Cal State San Marcos

Wolf said: "Like Gage, Diego arrives after playing three years at CSUSM. Diego is a calm player who brings technical quality to our team and will help us control games throughout the season. We believe Diego has what it takes to play significant minutes for us in his final year of eligibility."

#13 Gonzalo Gurrola
Freshman | Goalkeeper | Chula Vista, Calif. | Eastlake HS

Wolf said: "We are really pleased to add Gonzalo to our team in 2025. A true freshman, Gonzalo brings a ton of experience to our program as a top youth player at local San Diego Surf ECNL. Gonzalo has all the attributes to be a top goalkeeper at this level and we look forward to watching him develop over the next few years."

#16 Ian Garcia
Senior | Midfielder | Chula Vista, Calif. | Chaminade

Wolf said: "Ian is a local product who has had college experience at a few different universities. We are confident that Ian will play a big part in our program and think he can feature in a number of positions."

#4 Lisandru Susini
Senior | Defender | San Martino Di Lota, France | Limestone

Wolf said: "Lisandru will be our lone international on our roster 2025. A calm ball possessing central defender from France, Lisandru played for one of the top teams in the country in 2024 at Limestone University. Unfortunately, Lisandru needed to find a place to continue his education after Limestone made the announcement to close its doors after the spring semester. We look forward to seeing his influence in our team in 2025."

#3 Zion Yeboah
Junior | Defender | Temecula, Calif. | Cal State Monterey Bay

Wolf said: "After spending two years at Cal Monterey Bay, Zion decided to come home to San Diego and finish his career on The Point. Related to former Ghanaian international, Tony Yeboah, Zion is a true left back with an educated left foot who can play both sides of the ball. We think in our system, Zion can develop into one of the best fullbacks in the region."

#30 Joshua Naumoff
Sophomore | Goalkeeper | Portland, Ore. | Cal State Fullerton

Wolf said: "Joshua's arrival to The Point completes our offseason need of shoring up our goalkeeper position. Along with returner Caringella and with the addition of freshman Gurrola, we believe we have the deepest and most competitive goalkeepers in our history. After a redshirt year at Cal State Fullerton, Naumoff will bring much needed depth, quality and competition to our goalkeeping."
