(AZUSA, Calif.) No. 7 PLNU Volleyball picked up its third straight sweep victory on Saturday, defeating Azusa Pacific in three sets – 25-22, 25-14, 25-20.
Point Loma had an attack % of .376, its highest of the season, with four Sea Lions recording double-digit kills.
Abigail Nua led all players with 16 kills, while
Jill Leslie (.643),
Kyra Miles (.526) and
Saren Rogers each added 10 kills apiece.
Nua had four kills in a 10-0 PLNU run during the second set that helped Point Loma turn a 12-11 lead into a 22-11 advantage.
Then in the third and final set, a 7-0 Sea Lions run put the visitors up 20-12 with the help of three combined blocks from Miles and
Ellie Nichols, before Nua sealed the sweep with a kill.
Miles added a career-high seven blocks defensively, while
Macy Reynolds had 22 digs.
Sophia Baugh posted a double-double of 41 assists and 10 digs.
Point Loma (8-1 overall) will take its six-match winning streak back to Golden Gym on Wednesday to host Concordia at 6 p.m.
