(SAN DIEGO) PLNU Men's Basketball is hosting its Third Annual Tip-off Dinner on Nov. 7 at the Liberty Station Conference Center.
"Our Tip-Off Dinner has connected our program to alum and the community better than we could have ever anticipated," Head Coach
Justin Downer said. "We love having the opportunity to share our program's mission and purpose, while giving our supporters a chance to sit shoulder-to-shoulder and hear from our guys."
The event, which begins at 7 p.m., will offer attendees a meal and an inside look into this year's team, along with an opportunity to interact with players and the coaching staff.
Downer will address the crowd ahead of his third season in charge, while the Ethan Hamilton Leadership Scholarship recipient and PLNU Men's Basketball Service Award honoree will be announced.
"We are honored to name the Ethan Hamilton Leadership Scholarship after such an extraordinary leader and pioneer for PLNU athletics," Downer said.
Point Loma is coming off a fourth straight PacWest championship and a fourth PacWest Tournament title in six postseasons.
PLNU finished the 2024-25 season with a 29-6 overall (18-2 PacWest) record, reaching the West Regional championship game for the second time in three years.
The Sea Lions return six players from last season's team, while adding five high-level transfers and seven freshmen to this year's squad.
Point Loma will open its 2025-26 campaign the day after the Tip-off Dinner with an exhibition game in Golden Gym on Nov. 8 against Westcliff at 4 p.m.
"We want you there," Downer said. "We want to meet you and share a meal with you guys as we tip off the 2025-26 season."
PLNU's regular season will then begin Nov. 14-15 in Costa Mesa at the PacWest/CCAA Conference Challenge, with games scheduled against Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State San Bernardino in rematches of last year's regional championship and semifinal games.
