(SAN DIEGO) PLNU Men's Basketball took down Fresno Pacific on Saturday afternoon in Golden Gym by a score of 69-54 to remain atop the PacWest standings.
Point Loma scored the first seven points of the game before taking a 38-30 lead into the locker room, as
Tyce Paulsen scored 14 of his game-high 18 points in the first half.
James Nobles hit one of his three 3-pointers to put PLNU up by 12 early in the second half, only for FPU to respond with an 11-0 run to get to within one with 13:18 remaining.
The Sea Lions then only allowed 10 points the rest of the way, as dunks by
Caden Harris and
Andrew Nagy extended the hosts' lead back to double digits.
PLNU held FPU to just 32.7% shooting for the game, including 25.9% in the second half, while doubling up on the Sunbirds in points in the paint (32-16).
Joining Paulsen in double figures were Nagy (14 points) and Nobles (13 points).
Jaden Matingou had nine points and a game-high six assists, while
Andrew Hommes scored seven points while leading all players with nine rebounds.
Point Loma (16-4 overall, 11-3 PacWest) returns to Golden Gym on Thursday to host Menlo at 7:30 p.m.
