SCORCHING FIRST HALF SENDS SEA LIONS ON THEIR WAY

(SAN DIEGO) PLNU Men's Basketball scored its most points in a half in any game this season, leading from start to finish in a 91-68 win over Menlo on Thursday night in Golden Gym.

Andrew Hommes sank a triple on the opening possession of the game, signaling a sign of things to come as Point Loma scored 55 points in the first half.

Andrew Nagy had 14 of his game-high 23 points in the first half, helping the Sea Lions outscore the Oaks 28-8 in points in the paint in the opening 20 minutes.

Caden Harris provided 12 of his 21 points in the first half, including a personal 9-0 run with a trio of triples that extended PLNU's lead to double digits.

Point Loma extended its 55-36 halftime lead to as many as 30 in the second half and was on pace for much of the game to eclipse triple digits on the scoreboard.

Hommes joined Nagy and Harris in double figures with 17 points, as did Jaden Matingou with 10.

The win is Point Loma's third-straight victory entering its final road trip of the season, with three games to be played in Hawai'i next week.

Point Loma (17-4 overall, 12-3 PacWest) opens its trip to the Aloha State on Tuesday against Chaminade at 9:30 p.m. PT / 7:30 p.m. HT.
