(SAN DIEGO) A trio of Sea Lions recorded double-doubles but PLNU Women's Basketball had its seven-game winning streak end on Saturday afternoon, as Fresno Pacific stunned first-placed Point Loma, 68-65, in Golden Gym.
 
Eiley Tippins (17 points, 11 rebounds), Ruby Vlahov (17 points, 10 rebounds) and Hannah Golan (13 points, 12 rebounds) all had double-doubles but it wasn't enough for the Sea Lions to overcome the Sunbirds.
 
PLNU led 20-12 after the first quarter and by as many as 12 after Vlahov's layup halfway through the second, but FPU went on a 13-2 run to close out the half to get to within one.
 
Golan's buzzer-beating 3-pointer to end the third quarter put PLNU up by two entering the fourth, but that was only one of three triples the Sea Lions made in the game on 23 attempts (13.0%).
 
FPU took the lead for good at the midpoint of the fourth quarter with one of its 12 3-pointers. PLNU had multiple chances to tie the game in the final minute but the Sunbirds held on to give the Sea Lions their first loss at home this season.
 
Izzy Navarro (7 points, 7 rebounds, 10 assists) flirted with a triple double-double in the loss.
 
Point Loma (15-5 overall, 11-3 PacWest) returns to Golden Gym on Thursday to host Menlo at 5:30 p.m.
