(SAN DIEGO) The PacWest runs through The Point, again.
No. 21 PLNU Men's Basketball clinched at least a share of a fifth-straight PacWest regular season title, as Point Loma defeated Vanguard 89-61 on Thursday night in Golden Gym.
The Sea Lions' fifth-straight conference championship sets a new PacWest record for most consecutive regular season men's basketball titles.
Caden Harris scored a career-high 24 points, while
Andrew Nagy scored 23, as Point Loma steamrolled into the record books.
Tyce Paulsen's 3-pointer in the final minute of the opening half gave Point Loma a 41-28 halftime lead, before the Sea Lions extended that to as many as 32 in the second half.
Jaden Matingou scored 13 points and
James Nobles added 10 to join Harris and Nagy in double figures, as PLNU shot 60.3% from the field as a team.
Point Loma avenged its loss at Vanguard on Jan. 24, with the Sea Lions winning all seven games since then.

Justin Downer becomes the second coach in PacWest history to win three-straight regular season conference titles.
Point Loma (21-4 overall, 16-3 PacWest) holds a three-game lead atop the conference standings with three games remaining and will clinch the outright conference title with either one more win or one more loss by second-placed Westmont.
PLNU hosts Concordia on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. during Homecoming Weekend on campus, with all three remaining regular season games for the Sea Lions to be played in Golden Gym.
