PLNU CLINCHES OUTRIGHT PACWEST TITLE ON HOMECOMING

(SAN DIEGO) No. 21 PLNU Men's Basketball clinched the outright PacWest title with an 85-59 victory over Concordia on Saturday night in Golden Gym.

After clinching at least a share of the conference crown on Thursday, Point Loma celebrated in front of the Homecoming crowd by officially sealing the No. 1 seed in the PacWest Championships.

The Sea Lions closed out the first half on an 18-2 run over the final 5:36, as PLNU doubled up on CUI in points in the first half to take a 36-18 lead into the locker room.

Point Loma then scored 49 points in the second half, developing its lead to as many as 32, to win its eighth straight game.

Ten different Sea Lions scored in the game, including nine who made a 3-pointer, as PLNU shot 13-for-24 (54.2%) from long range, which is the team's best shooting % from behind the arc in a game this season when making double-digit triples.

Tyce Paulsen led all players with 16 points, while James Nobles (14 points) was a perfect 6-for-6 from the field. Andrew Hommes (14 points) and Jaden Matingou (13 points) joined them in double figures.
