SEA LIONS SWEEP AGAIN, STREAK UP TO 20

(FRESNO, Calif.) No. 8 PLNU Baseball swept its fifth-straight PacWest series to open conference play, taking both games of Saturday's doubleheader at Fresno Pacific by scores of 15-5 and 14-5.

Point Loma has now won 20-straight games to extend its NCAA-era program record winning streak, while the Sea Lions also set a new NCAA-era program best mark by scoring double-digit runs in six straight.

PLNU combined for 36 hits across the two games, with Owen May and Tristan Moore each tallying four hits each in game one.

Moore, Ryan Ruch and Hank Smith all homered in Saturday's opener, with Smith swatting a grand slam as part of a five-run ninth that extended PLNU's lead to double digits.

Devin Norton earned the win on the mound, throwing six innings of one-run ball while striking out five.

May then had three more hits in game two, including a homer, which followed a three-run shot from Aiden Arriaga, who had five RBIs in the game. Arriaga's three-run blast in the first inning started a stretch of three-straight innings that the Sea Lions scored three runs in.

Point Loma (24-3 overall, 20-0 PacWest) will look to continue making history when it returns home to host Azusa Pacific on Friday in a doubleheader beginning at noon.
