(SAN DIEGO) PLNU Men's Tennis was competitive with NCAA Division I Saint Mary's on Tuesday evening in the Gaels' 4-1 win over the Sea Lions on Point Loma's Senior Day.

Saint Mary's won the doubles point after a pair of close 6-4 wins on Courts No. 2 and 3, but
Stanislas Noel and
Finn Kirschner managed to force a first set tiebreak at No. 1. PLNU's top duo led 4-2 in the tiebreak before the visitors prevailed, 7-5.

Kirschner picked up PLNU's lone point in the match with his 6-2, 7-6 (8-6) victory at No. 3 singles.

Marcos Alogo-Piqueras was leading 6-3, 4-6, 5-4 and on the verge of winning his No. 5 singles match when Saint Mary's clinched the overall victory.

Paul Sobich also won a set at No. 4 and was tied 2-2 in the third when his match was left unfinished.

Noel lost a narrow first-set tiebreak, 8-10, at No. 1 singles.

Leo Bormann were honored on Senior Day before the match.

Point Loma (4-9 overall) now travels to Hawai'i for three matches, beginning on Friday at Hawai'i Pacific.
