The Cougars won the doubles point and took a 3-0 lead in the match with wins on singles courts No. 3 and 1, before
Marcos Alogo-Piqueras got the Sea Lions on the board with his 6-2, 6-4 victory at No. 4.

Rhyson Chiang (No. 6) and
Paul Sobich (No. 5) both lost close first-set tiebreaks, but Chiang and
David Fisinger (No. 2) led in the second sets of their matches when APU clinched the match.

Point Loma (8-11 overall) will now play No. 3 seed Hawai'i Pacific (13-5) in a repeat of last year's PacWest Third Place Match.

PLNU and HPU will play at 9 a.m. on Friday, with the Sea Lions looking to match their best ever PacWest finish and place third in the conference for the third time in four years.
