TRIO OF SEA LIONS EARN ALL-AMERICAN HONORS

5/29/2026 3:05:00 PM

(Cary, N.C.) A trio of PLNU Baseball players have earned All-American honors ahead of the NCAA Division II World Series.

Tristan Moore (outfielder), Derek Silva (starting pitcher) and Devin Norton (starting pitcher) received the recognition for the Sea Lions, who won a third West Region championship in five seasons.

Moore was named a Second Team All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), while being tabbed as a Third Team All-American by the Division 2 Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA).

The left fielder is batting .388 this season with 17 home runs and a program single-season record 77 RBIs. He ranks sixth nationally in doubles (23), 13th in total bases (172) and 14th in RBIs. His 90 hits on the season are the third most in a single season by a Sea Lion all-time.

Silva, the PacWest Pitcher of the Year, earned Third Team All-American honors from both the NCBWA and ABCA.

The PLNU ace has pitched to a 11-1 record and a 3.41 ERA in 89.2 innings. He ranks seventh in NCAA Division II in wins and 11th in strikeouts (100). He is the 10th Sea Lion pitcher all-time to reach triple digits for strikeouts in a single season.

Norton received D2CCA Honorable Mention All-American recognition, having accumulated a 10-2 record and 2.35 ERA in 76.2 innings of work.

His ERA ranks 11th nationally and his win total is 14th. The right hander also ranks ninth in the country with a 1.04 WHIP (walks plus hits per inning pitched).

All three previously were First Team All-West Region selections by the NCBWA, D2CCA and ABCA and voted to the All-PacWest First Team.

Multiple Sea Lions have earned All-American honors in each of the past three seasons, while at least one PLNU player has received All-American recognition for nine straight years.

Point Loma (49-11 overall) opens the NCAA Division II World Series on Saturday against Catawba at 10:30 a.m. PT / 1:30 p.m. ET.
