(SAN DIEGO) No. 16 PLNU Volleyball defeated Chaminade in four sets (25-21, 19-25, 25-22, 25-20) on Thursday night in Golden Gym in a highly-anticipated matchup of perennial PacWest contenders.

Kaitlyn Cabral and
Gianna Callari led all players with 14 kills, while
Ila Rose added 13, with all three players setting new Point Loma career highs.

Cabral and Rose both had five kills apiece in the first set, during which the Sea Lions hit .412 as a team, with Rose closing out the opening stanza with a kill.

After Chaminade responded by winning set two,
Mariah Hughes gave PLNU a 19-18 lead in set three with a service ace before
Sophia Baugh and
Hailey Clark combined for a block to give the hosts a 2-1 match lead.

PLNU then went on a pair of 4-0 runs late in the fourth, as Baugh took over with three kills and a service ace from her setter position, with Callari's 14th kill of the night clinching the victory for the Sea Lions.

Kira Federico led all players with 17 digs, while Cabral (15 digs) posted her second straight double-double.

Point Loma (7-3 overall, 3-1 PacWest) returns to Golden Gym on Monday to host Hawai'i Hilo at 6 p.m.
