Team Physicians

Point Loma Nazarene University Sports Medicine partners with several local physicians to provide dynamic and comprehensive health care for PLNU's Student-Athletes. Each of these physicians has an expansive background and expertise within the field of sports medicine, enabling them to provide the highest quality of individualized and sport-specific care necessary for our Student-Athletes to safely perform at their best.
 
Anderson
Dr. Ken L. Anderson, D.O.
Team Physician

Dr. Anderson went to medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Following graduation in 1984, he did an internship in Pinellas Park, FL. After serving four years as an Army physician, he moved to San Diego and completed a sports medicine fellowship at San Diego Sports Medicine & Family Health Center. He is board certified in family practice with a subspecialty in sports medicine.

Eric Wang
Dr. Eric Wang, M.D.
Team Physician

Dr. Wang is board certified in emergency medicine and specializes in sports medicine. He earned his medical degree from Georgetown University and completed his residency training at the University of Chicago. He then completed his sports medicine fellowship at Stanford University.

Dr. Jonathan J. Myer, M.D. 
Team Orthopaedic Surgeon

Dr. Myer is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery as well as Orthopedic Sports Medicine by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is Fellowship-trained and specializes in Sports Medicine, Advanced Arthoscopic procedures, Shoulder/ Knee Reconstruction, and Shoulder Replacement. Dr. Myer is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and regularly teaches other Orthopedic surgeons advanced surgical techniques within his area of expertise. Dr. Myer serves as a team physician for several collegiate athletic teams and has been affiliated with professional teams/athletes. Dr. Myer is a faculty member of the San Diego Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine Fellowship and regularly serves on Committees for the Arthroscopy Association of North America.

Dr. Mohammed Ahmed, M.D. 
Neuropsychiatrist

Mohammed Ahmed, MD, is a Neuropsychiatrist, board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Ahmed is Medical Director of Kaizen Brain Center, associate physician and academic instructor at University of California San Diego (UCSD), and affiliate staff at Hoag Memorial Hospital Department of Neurology & Psychiatry. As a specialist in both Memory Disorders/Dementia and Brain Injury Medicine, Dr. Ahmed integrates his expertise in both fields to treat people suffering from memory and cognitive disorders due to various neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer's Disease, Fronto Temporal Dementia, Lewy Body Dementia, and Traumatic Brain Injury/Concussion, Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE). He has been uniquely trained from a neurology, psychiatry, and rehab perspective in treating veterans with TBI and former NFL players.
