Men's Soccer at Embry Riddle

Another Tough Loss For PLNU

The Sea Lions suffered another frustrating loss on Saturday when they fell at Embry-Riddle (AZ) 1-0. The setback drops PLNU to 1-4 overall. The Eagles improved to 7-2 on the year.

"It was a good game," said PLNU coach Tim Hall. "But it was a typical loss for us. We can't seem to put the ball into the net."

Neither side managed a score through the first half of play. It wasn't until 53rd minute that the Eagles' Conner Stokes posted the lone goal of the match and that would be the game-winner. Stokes' goal was unassisted.

The Eagles outshot the visiting Sea Lions 12-11 with PLNU keeper, Eric Leboffe, making four saves. Jakob Horstmann had three saves for ERAU.

Not only was it a tough loss, it was a tough contest. The conditions were hot and humid and the two squads combined for eight cards. In addition, PLNU sophomore forward Tyler Hall had an early goal negated due to an offsides call. Tyler Hall, and the team, believe he wasn't offsides.

The Sea Lions played their last non-conference tilt of the season against Embry-Riddle. PLNU turns its focus on GSAC opposition with a match at The Master's next Saturday starting at 2:30 pm.
