San Diego – NAIA No. 7 Point Loma Nazarene beat conference rivals Biola University 7-2 on their home courts on Saturday. The win boosts Loma up to a 2-3 season mark with a 2-1 record in the GSAC, while Biola falls to 1-5 overall with 0-4 in the conference.
 
Loma took the match fairly easily, only dropping one singles and one doubles match. In singles, Tyler Bowman on court one, finished in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1.
 
KC Ensley played on court two and won his point 6-1, 6-3 and Angel Tavera on three won 6-2, 6-3. No. 4 Andrew Combs won in two 6-3 sets and Kaptan Kaster did two games better, winning in two 6-2 sets.
 
The final match on court six went to Biola though Sea Lion Matthew Booth put up a tough fight. After splitting sets, the match was pushed to a tie breaker which BU's Anthony Sena won 10-3.
 
Doubles was not as smooth but Loma still came away with two of the three points. No. 1 team Bowman and Greg De Andrade came through in their match 8-6 while Combs and Kaster on two had an even closer shave with their 9-7 win.
 
Court three was the loss with Eric De Board and Elias Lehnert falling 8-1.
 
No. 8 Vanguard is the next opponent on the schedule. The home match is set for Monday at 2 pm.
