COSTA MESA, Calif -- NAIA seventh-ranked Point Loma Nazarene snapped a two-match skid Tuesday, defeating No. 8-ranked Concordia, 6-3 at the Costa Mesa Tennis Center. The Sea Lions improved to 8-6 overall, 4-4 in conference. The Eagles fell to 6-7, 5-4 GSAC.

Three of PLNU's four singles wins went three sets to help provide for the dramatic victory.

Doubles gave the Green and Gold a 2-1 edge to start off the match. Loma's No. 2 team KC Ensley and Angel Tavera won out over Concordia's Ryan McNamara and Patrick Szeremeta, 8-5. PLNU's doubles loss came on court three. Though Sea Lions Andrew Combs and Kaptan Kaster battled tough against Rafael Coutinho and Jan Guler, they eventually fell 8-6. 

Court one saw Sea Lions Tyler Bowman and Greg De Andrade struggle with Bruno Santarelli and Bruno Hagemann until PLNU managed to snag the win, 9-8.
 
Singles yielded four more points for Loma and gave the team the match. PLNU's Bowman played Ashkon Babakee on court two and won in straight 6-3 sets. Green and Gold teammate Mike Zablan played on court four, coming back after losing the first set 7-5 to win the second and third 6-3, 6-1 from McNamara.
 
Action on court five also went three sets and the match went to Diego Tavera. Tavera won the first set 6-4 over Guler, lost the second 6-3 but came back to take the match 6-1. Court six was also a win for PLNU. Chad Rubin split sets with Micah Groom, winning the first set 6-4 and just losing the second 7-5. Zablan then defeated Groom in a third-set tie breaker, 10-7.
 
The only two matches lost were on courts one and three. De Andrade played number one and was beat by Santarelli 6-1, 6-2 and PLNU teammate Ensley on three was edged by Rafael Coutinho 7-6, 6-2.
 
Biola will be the next opponent for Point Loma. Loma will travel to the Costa Mesa Tennis Center to play BU on Saturday at 1 pm.
