SENIOR DAY:
Saturday will be the final day six Sea Lions seniors will compete at home. Prior to their match at 11:00 a.m. there will be a ceremony to honor the six seniors; Carly Rivera, Kaycie Hanlin, Codi Cameron, Leah Porter, Jessica Van Loo and Madi White.

A LOOK AT THE SEA LIONS:
Point Loma (8-7-1 overall, 6-4-1 PacWest) comes into the matchup off a 1-1 week. Tuesday (Oct. 29), the ladies took down Cal State San Marcos thanks to freshman Dottie Rhoten's goal in the 79th minute. Saturday (Nov. 2), the Sea Lions fell 1-2 to Fresno Pacific.

As a team, PLNU ranks third in the PacWest both goals (22) and assists (18). Rhoten leads the team with five goals on the season, which is tied for seventh in the conference. Porter and junior Claire Mathews are tied for fourth with four assists each.

SEA LIONS LAND TWO ON COSIDA ACADEMIC TEAM:
Point Loma was one of three teams in the NCAA 8th District with two or more student-athletes being named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team. Jessica Van Loo made the team as a defender, and Claire Mathews qualified as a midfielder. There are only 11 student-athletes throughout the region in Division II that are selected for the prestigious academic squad.

To be eligible for the award the nominee must be a starter or important reserve. They must maintain a 3.30 grade point average throughout their undergrad and graduate work. They also must have reached sophomore status and must have completed at least one calendar year at the institution.

Mathews is a junior and has a 3.98 cumulative grade point average as an Engineering Physics major (with an emphasis in Mechanics). Van Loo is a senior Nursing major with a 3.95 cumulative GPA. Mathews and Van Loo had the second and third highest grade point averages, respectively, on the All-District team.

A LOOK AT THE COUGARS:
Azusa Pacific (12-1-1, 10-0-1 PacWest) represents the Sea Lions' toughest test of the season. The Cougars are coming off a 1-0 win over Cal Baptist in which they clinched the PacWest title.

APU has yet to lose a conference match. In fact, the Cougars have not conceded a single goal since a 1-1 tie at Academy of Art on Sept. 21 — a streak of 875 minutes. They are the second-highest scoring team in the PacWest with 32 goals and 20 assists (84 total points). The Cougars have also posted a PacWest-high 10 shutouts. Mayra Almazan is tied for third in the conference with eight goals this season, while Natalie Nick and Haley Fisher are each tied for fourth in assists (four). Goalkeeper Sarah Klinkenberg leads the PacWest with a 0.29 goals against average and .920 save percentage.
