AZUSA, Calif. - Playing their third match in four days, Point Loma Nazarene could not find any momentum, falling 8-1 on the road to Azusa Pacific, Friday, Apr. 5.

The Cougars, ranked 11th in NCAA Division II, jumped on the Sea Lions early, taking all three doubles matches. On court one, Brooks Baldinger and Jakob Kevelaerts lost 8-5. Kaptan Kaster and Michael Zablan fell 8-2 on court two, and Bram Kevelaerts and Daniel Milliken were defeated 8-2 on court three.

The Sea Lions were able to steal a point on singles #5, where Milliken defeated APU's Whitman Hough 6-3, 7-5 in straight sets.

On court one, Baldinger faced off against Jochem Hoefnagels, the 11-ranked singles player in Division II. Unfortunately, Baldinger fell 6-1, 6-1. On singles #2, Zablan lost 6-3, 6-1, and Kaster was defeated 6-2, 6-1 on court six.

The Kevelaerts brothers each played a thrilling three-set singles match, but both fell 10-8 in tiebreakers. Jakob lost 6-2, 1-6, 10-8 on court three, and Bram fell 6-4, 6-7, 10-8 on court four.

With the loss, Point Loma fell to 7-12 on the season. The Cougars remained undefeated on the year at 19-0.

Next up for the Sea Lions is a matchup against cross-town rival UC San Diego next Thursday in La Jolla. The matchup is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.
