THIS WEEK:
The Point Loma women's basketball team will face three Pacific West Conference opponents on the road in Hawaii this week. The Sea Lions will open the road trip against Hawaii Hilo on Monday, Jan. 6 at 7:00 p.m. (PST). They will then face Hawaii Pacific on Wednesday (6:30 p.m.) and BYU-Hawaii on Friday (7:00 p.m.)

A LOOK AT THE SEA LIONS:
Point Loma enters the road trip on a four-game winning streak. The Sea Lions are now 6-4 on the season and 4-2 in the PacWest. In their last contest PLNU downed Holy Names 87-74. It was a valiant all-around effort for the Sea Lions who were playing without
Jessica Escorza. In the game four Sea Lions recorded double-doubles including
Callie Rhoads who paced the team with 20 points to go along with her career-high 12 rebounds.
Abby Boorman also added 12 points, a career-best 15 rebounds, four assists and six blocks.
Callie Rhoads leads the Sea Lions and ranks fifth in the PacWest with 15.5 ppg. She is second in the league with 2.8 3-pointers made per game and fifth with a .443 shooting percentage behind the arc. Point guard
Savannah Erskine is pacing the PacWest in both steals and assists. She is averaging 5.2 steals per contest and 5.9 assists. She is also first in the league in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.7) and eighth in free throw percentage. Escorza is second behind Erskine in steals with 3.0 swipes per game. She is also eighth in scoring (14.7) and second in throw attempts (67). Boorman is also pacing the PacWest. Her 2.7 blocks per game lead the league by .7 and she is also 14th in rebounding (6.7).
As a team, Point Loma is leading the conference in blocks (4.3), steals (13.3) and turnover margin (+4.64). The Sea Lions are also ranked second in 3-point baskets per game (7.5), 3-point percentage (.343) and free throw percentage (.726). Defensively, PLNU is third in both scoring defense (63.7) and field goal percentage defense (.362).
BOORMAN NAMED PACWEST DEFENDER OF THE WEEK:

Abby Boorman has been selected as the Pacific West Conference Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 30-Jan. 5. Boorman (Reno, Nev./Reno HS) turned in an all-around effort against Holy Names with a career-high 15 rebounds, 12 points, six blocks and four assists. Her defensive effort helped the Sea Lions hold the Hawks to just 33.8 percent shooting and outrebound HNU by plus-16 (58-42). That was the Sea Lions' best rebounding effort of the season. Boorman led all PacWest players in rebounds and blocks for the week.
A LOOK AT THE VULCANS:
Hawaii Hilo is 4-6 on the season and .500 in the PacWest at 3-3. Kamie Imai is leading the team with 12.0 ppg and 6.8 rpg. She is the only Vulcan student-athlete averaging in double-figures. Kirstie Williams is the team's top threat from behind the arc with 13 of UHH's 41 treys on the season. She is averaging 10.0 ppg in conference play.
A LOOK AT THE SEA WARRIORS:
Hawaii Pacific is 7-3 on the season and 4-1 in the PacWest Conference. The Sea Warriors recently had their three-game winning streak snapped at Academy of Art, 75-72, in a battle of previously undefeated PacWest teams (Jan. 4). Skye Savini is one of four HPU student-athletes averaging in double-figures. She leads the team with 15.9 ppg, while shooting .474 from the field. Laken McClelland and Morganne Comstock are tied for second on the team with each averaging 10.7 ppg, respectively. Comstock also leads the squad with 8.3 rebounds, while McClelland hauls in 7.2 boards per contest.
A LOOK AT THE SEASIDERS:
BYU-Hawaii is still looking for its first win of the season after starting the year 0-8, including 0-3 in PacWest play. Danna Lynn Hooper is the only Seasider averaging in double-figures with 14.3 ppg. She has also hit over half the team's trey (13-of-25) and is second on the squad with 1.8 assists. As a team BYU-Hawaii is being outscored by nearly 34 ppg and is being outrebounded by 7.5 boards.
NEXT WEEK:
Point Loma will come home next week to face Cal State San Marcos in a non-conference contest on Wednesday, Jan. 15. The Sea Lions will then return to PacWest play on Friday, Jan. 17 against Azusa Pacific.
