LOS ANGELES - The Point Loma women's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision to Cal State LA on Friday, Feb. 7.
The Sea Lions (0-2) knew they were in for an uphill battle after dropping all three doubles sets.
Sharon Reibstein and Preethinka Venugopal was nearly able to salvage a point for PLNU at the No. 3 spot but were edged 9-8.
In singles, the Sea Lions received points at No. 2 from
Regina von Koch, at No. 5 from
Preethika Venugopal and at No. 6 from
Kirsty Mountain. Each of these three also won in singles at their same position in the season-opener last Saturday (Feb. 1) against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
However, with their three points from doubles and three more in singles, CSULA was able to pick up the points necessary to earn the 6-3 win.
The Point Loma women's tennis team will be back in action tomorrow at home when it hosts Azusa Pacific in a 10:00 a.m. match.
